In the phase of constructing the new Sunndal Casthouse, TPG was involved to assist in the organisational development.
Goal: ASU to be "Best in Class" among Extrusion Ingot Casthouses
- Proactive and agile organisation
- Drive their own performance improvement
- Be recognised for constructive contribution to EIBU
- Among top three in "Performance Audit"
Process: Over a 10 month period, three consultants from TPG worked on:
- Defining organisational structure and review position descriptions
- Coaching the Management team, supervisors and key operators
- Coaching of the Casthouse Manager
- Revitalising TPM
- Making the management team understand their independent role and responsibility for own development and their relations to other parts of HAL.
Results: The Sunndal Casthouse organisation is today proactive with a strong:
- Internal drive to optimise
- Feeling of responsibility for own situation and development
- Improved relation to the sales and sourcing organisation
- TPM has been revitalised
- They scored among "top three" in the internal "Performance Audit"
The biggest achievement of TPG is that they have worked in a way that has given a strong momentum, but also created an ownership to the change and the process, so that the development has continued after TPG left the organisation. My impression is that TPG in this way has influenced and left more with the organisation than what is easily recogniseable.
