Seminar on foresight

Develop stronger strategies for the future

The Performance Group together with foresight specialist Jan Dietz have the pleasure of inviting you to a seminar on foresight – an exciting approach to the renewal of strategy processes.

We live in bewildering times. We see an abundance of significant and often abrupt shifts - politically, economically and technologically. Some changes, however, appear slowly and are harder to observe. But their impact can be staggering. In an uncertain, ambiguous world, the need for sound strategic thinking becomes ever more important.

Uncertainty as a source of learning

Charting a new course is easier said than done. Changing political conditions, changing market situations or demands from new owners, may be difficult to anticipate and interpret. Foresight is about using this uncertainty to develop novel thinking and innovative solutions. Foresight methods are used to create open, participatory strategy processes. Visit the future! – And become better prepared for both opportunities and problems ahead.

Foresight is subject to increased interest around the world. Foresight is used by governments, large companies, clusters of industries and regional authorities and communities. In Norway, many companies and organisations now seek knowledge about what foresight is and the many benefits of using foresight methods.

Foresight in practice

The challenge is to apply these methods and to create value for the organisation. The seminar will address the following topics:

·        What are the key learning points of a successful foresight process?

·        What kind of challenges can be addressed with the aid of foresight??

·        How do we get started?

The Performance Group has 20 years of experience in advising on and setting the stage for strategic change. We know how to involve all levels of an organisation. We see it as our job to help improved dialogue and interaction between research communities, government institutions and commercial actors.

We look forward to welcoming you to an afternoon with great speakers and inspiring discussions on Tuesday August 24.
