Continental Hotel and Restaurant retained TPG to work on leadership development for corporate management and 25 middle managers during 2010 and 2011. TPG worked closely with the CEO and HR director to develop two leadership gatherings, interspersed with group work by participants on current tasks. TPG designed the process and fashioned guidelines for the group work. Before each leadership gathering, TPG trained with corporate management on communication and participation skills. The middle managers were offered training in feedback, leading continual improvement and communication skills.

Each participant, together with a colleague, developed a leadership platform which was then followed up by his or her work group. The work groups made active use of a “leadership toolbox.” Continental’s leadership groups contributed to building a culture of increased mutual recognition and constructive feedback, with increased daily cooperation across the company to be benefit of customers.
