Noticable effect in the organisation
There are many ways to develop a leadership program. In our programs we are especially concerned with creating a noticeable impact on the organisation. We create new insight, build competence and ensure that these new insights and competence actually lead to changed leader behavior and practices. New behaviour is demanding, and requires training.
Relevant and practical
The program should be relevant and practical as well as varied, and fun. It should be rewarding to learn something new together with colleagues, and our gatherings are known for their atmosphere of positivity, energy and engagement. We are also concerned with building/tailoring the program together with the course owner – something we refer to as co-creation. The course owner knows the needs of the organisation best.
Example of a leadership development program
We know today that eight times as many leader fail due to relational problems as administrative problems. Regardless: when demands increase, or business is down, leaders are more concerned with numbers and reporting than of the people in the organisation. The relationship and interplay between leaders and co-workers influences to a large degree the effectiveness of the leader. The key to good cooperation lies in knowing yourself, understanding how you influence others, and how others influence you.
In the following program we are concerned with how we can create a common leadership platform within the organisation. That is, create a common understanding for what kinds of demands and expectations are placed on the leaders. The program shall develop leaders who have skills, tools, courage and desire to lead.
A leadership development program can revolve around the following three main headlines (modules):
I – cooperation and leadership in the organisation
- Values, goals and strategies for the organisation – who we are and where do we want to go?
- The desired leader competence in the organisation – creating a clear and common understanding of what it takes to be a leader in this organisation
- Increase understanding for expectations and demands on the leader role
- Strengthen cooperation across the organisation
II – Me as a leader
- Increase insight into own leader role
- Greater understanding of own strengths and weaknesses as a leader
- Increase ability to influence as a leader
III – Create results together with and through others
- Increase knowledge and skills to create results through others
- How to create an effective team and how to adjust one’s personal leader style to each employee
Through this program, participants will gain a big-picture understanding of the organisation and interplay in addition to insight into own leader style and improved ability to lead people. In sum, the program will develop effective leaders – that is leaders with effect.
