Strategy and foresightBy developing a clearer picture of what different futures your organisation can meet, foresight can serve as a logical and solid basis for a number of processes – everything from formulating high-level strategy to developing long-term competency needs or HR policies – or simply to inspire development and learning in the organisation.

Pause a moment and think about the future – what surprises do you see on the horizon for your organisation?

What do you think will happen in the world that will influence you over the next 10-20 years? In that time a number of trends – economic, political and social will have changed the landscape. We will face problems we barely see as a potential challenge today. We will think differently because the future, in a way that we cannot see today, will be different. And in the mean-time our attitudes and expectations will also change.

Is your organisation prepared for the changes that are coming?

Foresight is a structured way to explore alternative futures. Each of these possible futures is called a “scenario”. As each future contains different possibilities, we must be prepared for any one of these to materialize.

The process for exploring possibilities and answers to threats stimulates dialogue across organisational borders, professional areas and interest groups.

Our approach

A forsight process can take different forms and can be tailored to different groups:

  • Regions
  • Clusters
  • Young talents
  • Selected leaders/colleagues

We run foresight in workshops as the primary arena, but also work with project groups, and can bring foresight into leader and employee development. Foresight can also be an excellent theme for teambuilding sessions.
